A lovely way to spend a birthday

We took the kids to the park nearby, just after picking up Isaac’s birthday cake. At first, we thought to take them to the mall but we decided that it was more fun to get away from the crowds. By 5pm, the weather was not so hot anymore and the kids played on the swings and ran on the grass.

I have a lot of "pet subjects" in my photography, but one that always particularly attracts me is history and the passing of time. Sometimes it’s the resilience, quietness or stateliness, and sometimes it’s the weathering, personality and the stories I think it might tell (if it could speak).

KORAT, Thailand – HM2 Gabriel Fortes, a New Jersey native claps his hands in melody and excitement as he and 18-year-old Nieundorn Komloqw create a song named "All I need Is Love," as part of the two bonding over each other’s love of music during a visit to the School for the Blind Education Service Center on March 18 in Korat, Thailand during Cope Tiger 2011, an annual, multilateral, joint field training exercise currently being conducted at Korat and Udon Thani Royal Thai Air Bases March 14 through 25. U.S. Sailors and Marines of the Marine All-Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 533, Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan took time from the exercise to visit the school. Taken last weekend during the Qing Ming festival where we go to pay respects to our deceased relatives. In my case, my grandma. Although they have started clearing the Lim Chu Kang Cemetery since it is getting quite crowded, new graves are still being created. Good thing is that they have better planning and concrete ground makes it more comfortable for visiting even if the weather is bad.
